It's that time of year. Time to take down all of the bulletin boards that were so cute in August, but are torn and sun-faded now. Time to clean up all of the broken crayons and lost game pieces--how did those get THERE anyway? Time to sweep up the dust bunnies. And time to pile all your furniture in one corner of the room so the summer cleaning crews can work their magic.
It's so bittersweet. Trust me--I am READY for summer! But it's always a little sad tearing things off the walls, packing things away and saying goodbye to these little people that you have not only taught--but cared for and nurtured for the last 9 months. But I'll get over it...
Before I take it all down and pack it all up, I thought I would give you a quick tour. It sure isn't as pretty as it was at the beginning of the year. And I'm going to warn you--I am NOT a professional film maker. It looks and sounds as if I am drunk! I DO NOT sound that way in real life (at least I don't think I do). But if you're nosy like me...you might enjoy it.
I'm making BIG changes next year--I'm trying out flexible classroom seating (which is both exciting and completely terrifying). So check back in the fall to follow me on that adventure!
Excellent! Your classroom always inspires even this girl who has been teaching a long time! Thanks! Need to watch this again to write down things I want to add to my room!

I want your Morning Jobs chart, too! Did you make it? Also, where are you finding your math games? I have a bunch but they end up taking up a lot of space. I would love suggestions. Did you make your schedule cards, too?
LOVE your site!

Thank you for sharing! Summer has started but now I feel the itch to get a jump on my class set up! You've inspired me to get super organized and now I know exactly where to start. I'm especially loving your library labels and matching stickers - they are so great!!!! Do you have those available somewhere? I want, want, want :)

It was wonderful to take a peek at your classroom! Thank you for sharing it. I will use some of your ideas to set up my classroom for next year. Of course mine will Bea very small room compared to yours, but we will make the best of it too.
Have a great summer too!

Thank you so much for sharing the video of your classroom! I love it! When you have time, I was wondering if you can answer a couple of questions. First, on your burlap bulletin board, what did you use as the border? Is it butcher paper crumpled up and twisted? I love the way it all looks so natural together. Second question is, how did you make your pom pom tree? I love it! Thank you so much!

Where did you get those maroon buckets?
Posted by: Jasmine Clair | 08/19/2016 at 07:35 PM
@Jasmine Clair I think the buckets you are talking about are actually bright red, not maroon buckets. I do not have any maroon buckets. But you might try Really Good Stuff. They have a lot of different colors, and I think they might have an earth tones collection…

Hi Kathryn! I'm getting ready for the new year and I would really like to find your simple math games. Can you share where you found the Make 5 Game?

I posted earlier but never heard back. Could you tell me where you got your morning job chart? It's so cute. Thanks

This is such an inspiration, especially for us as a newbie in this field. This is my first year in teaching kindergarten at Kids Academy for Preschool. You tips and video really give me a lot of ideas and they are actually amazing tips. I will definitely do this in my classroom. Thank you and keep it up! :)
